This class is required by the state of Florida for anyone who is applying for a Florida Drivers License/ Permit/ Restricted for the first time.
It is often referred to as the Drug and Alcohol Course or the First Time Drivers Course.

What does the online course cover?
The class consists of material associated with the affects of alcohol and drugs as they pertain to driving as well as general driving information on traffic safety, traffic trends, traffic statistics and other traffic related matters.

How long will the online course take?
The class is divided into 4 chapters and a final exam. Each chapter is a timed 50-minute session with a 10-minute break. There is no time restriction for the final exam. You can log in and out on your own schedule.

When do you get your certificate?
Upon successful completion of the class, a certificate of completion will be emailed, mailed or sent overnight to the address entered when registration took place. Your certificate will include your personal information, citation number, date of birth, and Florida county where you received your ticket.

I have my certificate now what do I do?
You will need to bring your certificate of completion on the day of your appointment at the Department of Motor Vehicles.

This class is required if you have received 2 tickets/citations/violations within a 1-year period or you were court ordered to take the 8-hour course. Under Florida Statutes, no points will be assessed to your license.

How do I know I am signing up for the correct traffic school course?
If you were ordered by a Florida court or judge to take an 8-hour driver improvement/defensive driving course then this course is for you.
This course is NOT the 8-Hour Aggressive Driving Course or the 8 Hour Driving While License Suspended Course. If you are looking for a course for a DUI violation or Agressive Driving violoation then this is NOT the correct course.

How long does this traffic school course take to complete?
The course will take 8 hours but you do not have to do all 8 hours at once. You can log in and out to complete the course at your own schedule. If you are in a need of completing the course quickly, you can elect to get your certificate immediately by email.

Florida 12 hour traffic school is also known as Advanced Driver Improvement (ADI). This course is usually taken by Florida drivers who have received 12 points in 12 months on their drivers license. In addition, this course is for Habitual Traffic Offenders. When you complete this course, in most cases the court will issue you a hardship license that allows you to drive to and from work.

How do I know I am signing up for the correct traffic school course?
If a judge ordered you to take a Advanced Driver Improvement course or 12 Hour traffic school course then this is the course for you. 12 Hour traffic school is also taken because you have been deemed a habitual traffic offender (HTO).
If you are looking for a course for a DUI violation or Agressive Driving violoation then this is NOT the correct course.

The course will take 12 hours but you do not have to do all 12 hours at once. You can log in and out to complete the course at your own schedule.

Senior citizens are taking this course to receive a mandatory insurance discount in accordance with requirements outlined in Florida Statute 627.0652.

After completing our 6-hour state approved course a certificate of completion will be mailed to your home address. It will be your responsibility to turn your certificate into your insurance company to receive your insurance discount.
